Bafana got into the main tournament at the quarter-final stage after getting a bye in the group stages but were knocked out by Madagascar on penalties which resulted into Stuart Baxter’s charges falling into the plate section.
The South Africans then managed to redeem themselves by beating Namibia 4-1 in the semi-finals to reach the Plate final.
Bafana have not lost to Botswana in the previous 13 matches in regulation time, while they only suffered defeat once to the Zebras on penalties in the 2006 Cosafa Cup.
Baxter will be without midfielder Fortune Makaringe who is suspended after picking up two yellows cards.
