Starting XI: Horoya v Sundowns

CAF Champions League Starting XI: Horoya v Mamelod Sundowns 22 May 2018

By Soccer Laduma - May 22, 2018 05:08 PM
CAF Champions League

Teams: Horoya Athletique Club v Mamelodi Sundowns

Date: 22 May 2018

Venue: Stade du 28 Septembre

Mamelodi Sundowns will be seeking to recover lost ground in the CAF Champions League when they take on Horoya Athletique Club in a Group C encounter this evening.

This clash was moved from last week to this evening to accommodate the international friendly between the Brazilians and Spanish giants FC Barcelona, which took place last week.

Pitso Mosimane’s charges opened the group phase with a 1-1 draw against holders Wydad Casablanca and will want to accumulate three points early as the Moroccans have since gone on to win their second match against AS Togo Port and now the group top Group.

Meanwhile, the Guinea side will be counting on their brilliant home form to unsettle Masandawana in the fight for second spot in Group C.

Their last home defeat in the CAF Champions League was back in 2014 when they lost 1-0 to CS Sfaxien.

Horoya started their group stage campaign with a 2-1 away victory over AS Togo Port and pose a major threat to Sundowns’ chances of qualifying for the knockout round.

The Guineans are occupying second place in the group with three points from one match while Masandawana are lying third with only one point.

Victor Zvunka’s troops, who have won the last three Championships in Guinea’s top flight, warmed up for the crunch  tie against the Brazilians with a 5-0 victory over Satellite FC in the domestic league last Wednesday.

Here's how they line up:

Horoya: 16. N'Diaye, 4. Assoko, 8. Camara, 9. Camara, 13. Camara, 14. Camara, 17. Sebe Baffour, 24. Mando, 27. Camara, 30. Mandela.

Sundowns: 14. Brimah, 4. Langerman, 6. Arendse, 20. Ngcongca, 29. Soumahoro, 8. Kekana, 13. Mabunda, 5. Sirino, 11. Vilakazi, 26. Billiat, 22. Tau.

Subs: 1. Mweene, 7. Manyisa, 17. Zwane, 19. Brockie, 23. Madisha, 24. Zulu, 27. Morena.

I see no need why we should press panic buttons, it's not that bad we are still in line to qualify for knockout stages

That was our clean win, Pitso substitute too late, he suppose to PARK THE BUS immediately we get penalty cos Billiat was out after he get that takle. Buy the way why he play Sumahoro at that position, the guy is costing us a lot, i don't understand why he can't see that.

@Big mike, Sundowns is de only team that knows how to multi-task in the psl, we played CCL last season nd we finished as runner up, rats never qualified for de top 8, we continued with CCL we won de league yet rats finished as runner up nd now Sundowns is de only team representing it's country. I guess I made things easier for 2 see which team is average between Downs nd Rats or other 14 teams.

@BIG-MIKE14_VERSUS EDITOR ROUND3 Sundowns is simply "TIRED" & not as "INVINCIBLE" as their fans & coach like to believe but "TIME WILL TELL " & they will be exposed & "TIME DOES TELL" .............................. .............................. .we won the league while we were TIRED" & not as "INVINCIBLE" as their fans & coach like to believe .

I am not worried, as long as we go to Casablanca and we don't loose , that is highly possible as Casablanca has good fields. I want to see Rivaldo and Bangaly combination. football brain of Coetzee will hep Bangaly... but we can't loose the speed of Bangaly he is Quick N strong
