SuperSport United will be looking to bounce back from a loss in their first game of the 2018/19 Absa Premiership season when they host AmaZulu in a league match at the Lucas Morip Stadium on Wednesday night.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 19h30.
SuperSport’s season got off to a losing start, as goals from Cape Town City’s Roland Putsche and Craig Martin saw them beaten 2-0 in the Cape on August 4.
AmaZulu opened their campaign with three hard-earned points, as they defeated Baroka FC 1-0 at home on August 4 thanks to Siyethemba Sithebe’s goal.
In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and AmaZulu have met in 42 league matches since 1990. Matsatsantsa have claimed 19 wins compared to 14 for Usuthu, while nine matches have been drawn.
Last season AmaZulu claimed a league ‘double’ over United, winning 2-0 at home and 1-0 away, with Ovidy Karuru scoring a goal in each match. Usuthu have won four of their last five league games against Matsatsantsa.
