Absa Premiership
Teams: Orlando Pirates v Maritzburg United
Date: 03 February 2018
Venue: Orlando Stadium
Orlando Pirates will be desperate to return to winning ways in the Absa Premiership, when they host Maritzburg United at Orlando Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Buccaneers’ title aspirations were dented, when their four-match unbeaten run was ended after going down 3-0, to Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday night.
Milutin Sredojevic’s troops occupy fourth spot in the standings with 30 points from 20 games, eight points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
Fadlu Davids’ charges, meanwhile, have been blowing hot and cold this season, but now find themselves lying sixth on the log with 28 points from 19 matches.
Maritzburg are only three points behind second placed Cape Town City, following their 1-1 draw with Chippa United last weekend.
When these two sides met earlier in the season, they played to a goalless draw at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
