Absa Premiership
Teams: Orlando Pirates v Golden Arrows
Date: 28 October 2015
Venue: Orlando Stadium
Orlando Pirates will look to get their Absa Premiership campaign back on track when they host Golden Arrows in a league match at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 19h30.
The Buccaneers have only managed to get one win under their belt in the league which sees them in 12th place on the table with five points from six games.
Pirates will hope to transfer their cup form, which has seen them reach the CAF Confederations Cup and the Telkom Knockout semifinals, to the league.
The Buccaneers last league encounter saw them suffer a 1-0 loss to Bidvest Wits on October 21, extending their winless run to four matches in the Absa Premiership.
Golden Arrows, on the other hand, have fared quite will in the league since being promoted from the NFD.
The Durban side’s last league match saw them claim their third win of the season when they beat SuperSport United 2-1 away on October 20.
That result saw Arrows in eighth place on the Absa Premiership log with 11 points from seven games.
In head-to-head stats, Pirates and Arrows have met in 28 league matches since 2000/01.
The Buccaneers have 16 wins compared to four for Abafana Bes’thende, while eight matches have been drawn.
When the teams last met in the 2013/14 season, Bucs claimed a league ‘double’ with 3-1 wins both home and away.
Pirates have won their last nine consecutive league matches against Arrows.
