Absa Premiershp
Teams: Maritzburg United and Highlands Park
Date: 09 August 2019
Venue: Harry Gwala Stadium
Maritzburg United and Highlands Park go in search of their first victories of the 2019/20 Absa Premiership campaign when they clash at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday night.
The Team Of Choice got to the new season hoping to avoid the threat of relegation after saving their Absa Premiership status through the relegation-promotion play-offs last term.
However, the Team of Choice did not make a good start to the new season after going down 1-0 to KwaZulu-Natal rivals Golden Arrows last Sunday in their opening fixture.
Meanwhile, the Lions of the North started their campaign firing on all cylinders although they were on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs last Sunday.
Rodney Ramagalela and Peter Shalulile gave Highlands a come-from-behind 2-1 lead just after the half-time break but Lebogang Manyama completed his brace before Eric Mathoho netted a late winner for Amakhosi.
The Tembisa-based side will still be without influential midfielder Mothobi Mvala due to suspension, after he received a red-card in their final league game of last season against SuperSport United.
Here's how they line up:
Maritzburg: Ofori, Xulu, Allie, Morgan, De Reuck, Mngonyama, Timm, Claasen, Kutumela, Mokate, Shandu.
Subs: Mpandle, Ntshangase, Mekoa, Buchanan, Moseamedi, Lea'alafa, Jappie.
Highlands: Heugh, Mokoena, Ramoraka, Fransman, Mzava, Mbhele, Makhaula, Mvala, Shalulile, Jooste, Ramagalela.
Subs: Ngobeni, Mogaila, Rae, Msane, Mahlangu, Mbatha, Ndoro.
