A total of six Mamelodi Sundowns players will miss the much anticipated clash against Orlando Pirates this afternoon. At right back both Anele Ngcongca and Thapelo Morena will miss the match with a knee injury and thigh contusion respectively. The good news however is that Ngcongca does not need to go under the knife for his injury. Khama Billiat is still out with a knee injury. Aubrey Ngoma (hamstring) and Rivaldo Coetzee (foot) continue to recover on the sidelines. Cuthbert Malajila has now started walking pain free after his operation.

The Bulls away kit for the 2018 Super Rugby tournament pays tribute to fellow South African sporting giants Mamelodi Sundowns. Sundowns won the CAF Champions League last year and are the most successful team in the Premier Soccer League era. According to a press release, 'the Bulls will face their opponents in true Bafana Ba Style fashion emulating the Brazilians flair on field while carrying the same elements found on the Bulls home kit – a 20180 graphic on the chest in celebration of the union’s 80-year anniversary in 2018 – ultimately opening up the doors for football and rugby fans to join the Bulls as one family.'

Platinum Stars left-back Siyabonga Zulu will soon be joining Mamelodi Sundowns, as confirmed by Dikwena coach Roger De Sa. De Sa was speaking after his side’s 3-1 loss to Ajax Cape Town on Friday night , in what was Zulu’s last game for the relegation-threatened club. “There are two players that will be sold on Monday: Zulu and [Katlego] Otladisa,” De Sa said. “Otladisa has a broken leg, and will only start playing again in about three months’ time, so he’s likely to stay with us another season, and Zulu will join Sundowns, probably next week – and rightly so. “He’s got five months to go [on his contract], he’s given his everything and been fantastic … so for his good service, we take our hats off, say all the best and hopefully he becomes successful – that’s the way it should be.” Zulu, 24, has started all 17 league games for his club this season, having featured 66 times across all competitions for the Rustenburg-based club over the past three seasons. The talented left-back has been a standout player despite Stars’ struggles, and although disappointed at losing one of their strongest players, De Sa feels his move to Tshwane is a just reward for his efforts. “How do you stop players from bettering their lifestyles and furthering their careers? There’s a human side of the game you’ve got to keep – it’s only right,” said De Sa.
