The Citizens are in red hot form after winning three league games in a row for the first time this season following a 2-1 victory over Polokwane City on Tuesday.
Benni McCarthy's charges are starting to build momentum after a stuttering start in the Absa Premiership campaign despite winning the MTN8 earlier in the season. Another couple of victories before the end of the year could see the Mother City side among the title contenders.
City are currently lying eighth on the standings with 16 points from 11 games.
Meanwhile, The Lions of North's promising start to the season could soon fade away in the greater scheme of things after suffering their their second defeat in their last three matches.
Owen Da Gama's troops went down 2-1 to AmaZulu in midweek clash at their home turf at Makhulong Stadium and the Tembisa-based side will be looking to halt a potential free fall on the standings.
They dropped to tenth place on the table with 12 points from 11 matches and another defeat could see them being dragged further down into the relegation zone.
