Teams: Free State Stars v SuperSport United
Date: 13 December 2017
Venue: Goble Park
Free State Stars entertain SuperSport United in an Absa Premiership clash at Goble Park on Wednesday evening.
Luc Eyamel’s men are reeling from the weekend’s 3-0 derby defeat to their arch rivals Bloemfontein Celtic.
The defeat saw Stars slide down the league table to 10th place with 16 points. However, if there any positives to take into tonight’s match-up, Ea La Koto can be proud of the fact that they were unbeaten in the three games leading to the derby match. Their league record thus far reads as four wins, four draws and 5 defeats which makes 16 points.
Supersport United have only played eight games in the league due to their CAF Confederations Cup exploits which saw them finish as runners up to TP Mazembe.
The Pretoria-based outfit have 15 points to their name and have lost only once to Mamelodi Sundowns on opening day.
Eric Tinkler’s men have drawn their last two games, most recently a 1-1 draw against Cape Town City over the past weekend.
Going into this match-up, Matsantsantsa will be looking to take advantage of their games in hand with a victory that will move them up to seventh position. Meanwhile, three points for Ea La Koto would move them as far as third position, if other results go their way.
Here's how they line up:
Stars: 23. Sangare, 50. Vilakazi, 2. Mobbie, 22. Keita, 21. Phungwayo, 35. Teyise, 4. Makhaula, 26. Dlamini, 21. Mthembu, 11. Jantjie, 17. Hlubi.
