Teams: Chippa United v Kaizer Chiefs
Date: 05 December 2017
Venue: Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium
Chippa United will look to avenge their 1-0 Telkom Knockout quarter-final defeat when they host Kaizer Chiefs at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in a Wednesday Absa Premiership clash.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 19h30.
The two sides sit level on 16 points from 12 games heading into this fixture.
After a tough start to the season, the Chilli Boys enjoyed a successful October, winning against Cape Town City in the league and Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout, before downing Bidvest Wits in the Absa Premiership on 1 November.
However, since then, they have failed to win in three consecutive games, losing to Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout and drawing to Free State Stars and Sundowns in the league.
Meanwhile, Steve Komphela’s charges have been consistently inconsistent this season and head into this match off the back of four straight league draws. Like Chippa, Amakhosi have drawn seven league games already.
A fourth win of the season for either side, would put them level on points with current league leaders Sundowns — who have played only 10 games.
As the Absa Premiership table begins to take shape, Komphela desperately needs to once again outsmart his former team-mate Teboho Moloi, in order to keep his side in the hunt for the title.
Here's how they line up:
Chippa: 1. Akpeyi, 4. Macheke, 7. Mako, 5. Konqobe, 2. Okwuosa, 17. Maphanga, 27. Mabaso, 20. Mdlindzo, 32. Lentjies, 11. Mayambela, 9. Sekola.
Chiefs: 32. Khune , 4. Cardoso, 20. Hadebe, 30. Ngezana, 21. Zulu, 31. Katsande, 12. Maluleka, 14. Tshabalala, 23. Molangoane, 27. Ekstein, 14. Parker.
