Absa Premiership Starting XI: Cape Town City v Ajax Cape Town 20 January 2018
Teams: Cape Town City v Ajax Cape Town
Date: 20 January 2018
Venue: Cape Town Stadium
Cape Town City and Ajax Cape Town will renew their rivalry in an Absa Premiership clash at the Cape Town Stadium.
Benni McCarthy's charges head into the encounter on the back of a 1-0 loss to Free State Stars last weekend, ending their three-game winning run.
As a result, the Citizens find themselves in third spot in the league standings and could move to within a point of log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ajax, meanwhile, returned to winning ways last weekend with a 3-1 win over Platinum Stars thanks to goals from Tercious Malepe, Tashreeq Morris and Tendai Ndoro.
The Urban Warriors will be without Isaac Nhlapo, who is serving a suspension for an accumulation of yellow cards.
City and Ajax have only met on three occasions, with the former claiming wins in all three encounters, while the Urban Warriors are yet to score against their rivals.
The start of the match has been delayed and the match will now start at 15h45.
Here's how they line up:
City: 32. Stephens, 2. Mkhize, 16. Johannes, 5. Edmilson, 12. Fielies, 26. Nodada, 19. Putsche, 30. Martin, 13. Modise, 10. Patosi, 17. Obinna.
