Starting XI: Wits v Maritzburg

Absa Premiership Starting XI: Bidvest Wits v Maritzburg United 03 April 2018

By Soccer Laduma - Apr 03, 2018 06:23 PM
Absa Premiership

Teams: Bidvest Wits v Maritzburg United

Date: 03 April 2018

Venue: Bidvest Stadium

Bidvest Wits’ resolve will be tested when they come up against in-form Maritzburg United in the Absa Premiership at the Bidvest Stadium on Tuesday night.

The match is scheduled to get underway at 19h30.

The Clever Boys may just have turned the corner from their relegation worries and are now fighting to finish in the top eight with only six rounds of matches remaining.

Gavin Hunt’s charges have been inactive for two weeks owing to the FIFA international break but were in action shortly before the recess as they were knocked out of the CAF Champions League by Angolan side Primeiro de Agosto on penalties.

However, Hunt’s men are unbeaten in their last eight matches in the league following their 1-1 draw with Baroka FC at the beginning of last month and currently occupy 10th spot.

Meanwhile, the Team of Choice are in good form as their 2-1 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final clash over the weekend was their third consecutive win in all competitions.

United’s last league match was a 2-1 win over Polokwane City in mid-March, which saw them move up to third spot in the standings.

Here's how they line up:

Wits: 1. Keet, 3. Hlatshwayo, 6. Scott, 11. Pelembe, 13. Hlanti, 14. Mkhwanazi, 26. Ritchie. 28. Keene, 32. Alexander, 33. Frosler, 41. Majoro.

Subs: 36 Peters, 9. Rodgers, 25. Myeni, 30. Motshwari, 12. Pule, Mosiatlhaga, 41. Ntshangase.

Maritzburg: 31. Ofori, 16. Fransman, 25. Xulu, 26. Shandu, 23. De Reuck, 15. Maboe, 8. Ndlovu, Sanoka,14. Matima,9.  Fileccia, 36. Kunene.

Subs: 1. Mpandle, 12. Van Wyk, 22. Mokate, 29. McDonald, 18. Eksteen, 10. Atouba, 6. Thlone.

Hard luck my boys, in football you loose some and win some. I'm proud of you, keep up the good work. You are amongst the best teams in the PSL this season. Thank you coach Fadlu for leading this group of young players, there are growing day by day.

“When you are chasing, you are forever hoping that the person will lose. There are too many things happening. “We are watching what can we do, we just watch. We can afford to lose three points. I'm not saying it’s comfortable, but we can afford to lose three points. “We will talk when the time comes, at this pointing time, we are in the lead until somebody [else] leads. " Jingles c0ncluded
