Starting XI: Wits v CT City

Absa Premiership

Teams: Bidvest Wits v Cape Town City

Date: 02 March 2019

Venue: Bidvest Stadium

Bidvest Wits will be keep pace with Absa Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns when they host Cape Town City on Saturday night.

After failing to beat ten-man Sundowns last weekend, Gavin Hunt's side relinquished top spot after Sundowns defeated the Citizens on Wednesday evening.

Gavin Hunt’s charges have won only once in their last five league matches and they desperately need to rediscover their form in the title run-in.

Meanwhile, the Citizens will be looking to bounce back in the title race following a 3-2 defeat to Sundowns on Wednesday evening in Pretoria.

Benni McCarthy’s men had beaten Maritzburg United by the same scoreline prior to loss against Masandawana and they need to keep up their hopes of challenging for league honors by beating direct rivals Wits.

The Mother City outfit will be without Edmilson Dove, who is serving a suspension for an accumulation of yellow cards.

In the first round meeting between the sides, the the Clever Boys beat City 2-0 in Cape Town thanks to a brace from Simon Murray.
