Ajax Cape Town will be hoping to move the up the Absa Premiership table when they host Polokwane City in a league match at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday.

The match is scheduled to get underway at 19h30.

The Urban Warriors currently occupy fifth place on the table with 24 points from 18 matches, two points adrift of fourth placed Orlando Pirates.

Their last league outing saw them lose 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of 2014 and they will be hoping to get 2015 off to a positive start.

Polokwane, on the other hand, ended 2014 on positive note following a 2-1 win over Maritzburg United.

Currently, Rise and Shine are placed one place below Ajax on the table in sixth place on 24 points, the same as the Urban Warriors but with an inferior goal difference.

When the two teams met earlier in the 2014/15 season Ajax ran out 2-1 winners.

In head-to-head stats, Ajax and Polokwane have met in three league matches since 2013/14. The Urban Warriors have two wins compared to one for Rise and Shine.
