Starting XI: Ajax v Wits

Absa Premiership

Teams: Ajax Cape Town v Bidvest Wits

Date: 11 April 2018

Venue: Athlone Stadium

Ajax Cape Town will be desperate for points when they host Bidvest Wits in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday night at Athlone Stadium.

The Urban Warriors are still having a tough time getting away from the relegation zone as they suffered their third loss in their four matches when they went down 2-1 to AmaZulu just after the international break.

Muhsin Ertugral’s charges are however strong at home as they won their last three league matches, dispatching Platinum Stars, Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United.

The Mother City club have only five matches left to avoid the dreaded relegation and find themselves second-from-bottom with 24 points, three points away from basement side Platinum Stars.

The Clever Boys, meanwhile,  are out of the woods after conjuring up a nine-match unbeaten streak in the league.

Wits held on to their unbeaten run after beating Maritzburg United 2-1  in their last league encounter.

Gavin Hunt’s troops have not lost an away match in the league since going down to Bloemfontein Celtic last year October and currently occupy 10th spot with 32 points from 24 matches.

The first meeting in the league  between the two sides this season ended in a goalless stalemate at the Bidvest Stadium.

Here's how they line up:

Ajax: 22. February, 43. Zwane, 30. Booysen, 5. Lebusa, 13. Nhlapo, 16. Kabwe, 6. Nel, 29. Malepe, 44. Zakri, 10. Losper, 41. Lakay.
