Starting XI: Cameroon V Cote d’Ivoire

2015 African Cup of Nations

Group D

Teams: Cameroon v Cote d’Ivoire

Date: 28 January 2015

Venue: Estadio De Malabo

A win for either Cameroon or Cote d’Ivoire when they clash in their final 2015 African Cup of Nations, Group D match at the Estadio De Malabo on Wednesday will ensure qualification for the knockout stages of the competition.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 20h00.

Group D sits in a precarious position with all four teams tied on two points with neither side able to register a win.

Cote d’Ivoire played to a 1-1 draw against Guinea in their opening match which was followed by another 1-1 draw against Mali.

In the same light, Cameroon were held to a 1-1 draw by Mali in their first match which was followed by yet another 1-1 draw against Guinea.

There are a lot of possibilities regarding qualification from this group, but a win would ensure the victor a place in the quarterfinals of the African showpiece.

There is a rich history between Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire with the two countries having met in 17 official matches since 1970. Of those games Cameroon have won eight times to Cote d’Ivoire’s seven while two have ended in draws.

Their most recent encounter against one another ended in a 0-0 draw in November 2014 in Abidjan.

Here is how they line-up.

Cameroon: Ondoa, Guihoata, Nkoulou, Chedjou, Bedimo, Mandjeck, Mbia, Sali, Moukandjo, Choupo-Moting, Etoundi.

Cote d’Ivoire: Gbohouo, Kanon, K. Toure, Baily, Tiene, Aurier, Y. Toure, Serey Die, Doumbia, Gradel, Bony.
