With Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi revealing that the club is likely to be in the market for a central midfielder with a different physical profile, the future of player out on loan remains uncertain, while a few others are also waiting to hear if they are needed at Chloorkop.
Sundowns loaned out Siphesihle Mkhize to Chippa United and he has proved to be one of their key players in yet another difficult campaign for the Eastern Cape outfit. The 23-year-old has made 26 appearances in all competitions for Chippa, proving to be a key component in the middle of the park.
The Siya crew has gathered that Chippa are interested in holding on to the player, but as per loan rules, Mkhize has to return to Chloorkop at the end of the season before a decision is made on the next step of his career.
Another player facing an uncertain Sundowns future is Sammy Seabi, who is also on loan to the Chilli Boys. Seabi is on his second loan spell.
Phakamani Mahlambi is another who is out on loan and he in fact has an option to extend in his contract, as reported by the Siya crew, but it's believed Sundowns will not exercise it. It's believed Maritzburg United could be interested in holding on to Nicholus Lukhubeni, who joined the Team of Choice in January on loan.
The players who are in the GladAfrica Championship, Luvuyo Phewa and Malebogo Modise have made strong cases to be considered for first team action at Sundowns next season, but a decision on whether they stay or go still has to be made, as gathered by the Siya crew.
