A Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder has made it on the radar of at least two clubs in the Premier Soccer League, although his immediate future at the Chloorkop-based club is yet to be decided.
As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, the representative of Lucky Mohomi responded to Ajax Cape Town’s interest in the 29-year-old, after the CEO, Ari Efstathiou confirmed that the player is on their wish list.
“There’s been no formal approach for Lucky Mohomi. Obviously, we are looking at all options for him. It would be great to see him playing football again. We are open to all offers and we will see which one best suits him closer to the time,” Sean Roberts told the Siya crew.
Mohomi’s contract with Sundowns comes to an end on June 30, although the Brazilians do have an added one-year option set in place on his deal.
However, the Brazilians have until May 30, to exercise the option and should they not do so by the end of the month, Mohomi will be free to leave the club as a free agent.
The midfielder has in the past been heavily linked with a move to SuperSport United and now with Ajax also in the mix, there could be a bidding war for his services.
Ideally, Mohomi would want to join a club where he will get in regular game-time, this after making zero appearances for Sundowns in the 2019/20 campaign.
