With Mamelodi Sundowns expected to wrap up the DStv Premiership title race against SuperSport United this afternoon, a former striker at the Chloorkop outfit has predicted that no team would stop the defending champions even if they were to play their remaining matches with their reserve team.
SuperSport goalkeeper and captain Ronwen Williams has said that they would not want to be the side defeated by the Brazilians on their win to defend the title.
However, former striker Sandile Ndlovu says any of the clubs chasing Downs at this stage of the season will be under immense pressure to try and stop the log leaders and could make mistakes in the process.
“Sundowns have a very big chance of winning the league because they are left with four matches and need only three points from those matches. There is no pressure on Sundowns to win this league and the pressure is on the teams that are behind them on the log. Even if Sundowns can lose against SuperSport, they will still be under no pressure to win the league. Sundowns will win the league even if they don’t win against SuperSport but in one of their other remaining matches,” Ndlovu told the Siya crew.

“It’s highly impossible that Sundowns will fail to get the three points from their remaining four matches and even if Sundowns can play their remaining matches with their DStv Diski Challenge team they will still win the league. What I know that usually happens in football is that the teams that are under pressure usually make mistakes and that is what is going to happen to the likes of SuperSport and the other teams that are chasing Sundowns. With Ronwen (Williams) having said that they don’t want to allow Sundowns to wrap up the league against them, don’t be surprised if he ends up being the player who makes a blunder because he and his team will be under pressure to stop Sundowns,” added the ex-Sundowns man.
