Mamelodi Sundowns players who are currently out on loan can look back at some of the success stories of those who spent a season, or two, away from the club and came back to make a big impact, including the likes of Percy Tau, Tiyani Mabunda and Denis Onyango.
Sundowns have always given players who are not getting regular game-time at the club to go elsewhere to prove themselves and while there are many who were not able to return to Chloorkop and break into the team, there are those who benefitted from going out on loan.
The likes of Tau, Mabunda, Onyango, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Sphelele Mkhulise and even Sandile Ndlovu a while back went out on loan to prove themselves and returned to Chloorkop to break into the starting line-up.
Currently, Sundowns have loaned out players such as Sammy Seabi, Aubrey Ngoma, Phakamani Mahlambi, Malebogo Modise, Nyiko Mobbie and Luvuyo Phewa.
According to information provided to the Siya crew, some of these players could get loaned out again next season. This list includes Mobbie, Phewa and Seabi.
Both Mobbie and Seabi have been getting game-time at Chippa United and Swallows FC respectively, but news reaching the Siya crew is that they may not be ready to break into the starting line-up at Sundowns, who are already looking at other targets for next season.
Sundowns still need to make a decision on Ngoma, who has a two-year option in his contract. The player recently returned from injury and has been getting playing time at Cape Town City.
There have been major concerns over the progress of Mahlambi, who has been unable to break into the team at AmaZulu. Sundowns will make a decision on the player towards the end of the season.
