Both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates have continued to progress on the African rankings while Kaizer Chiefs have dropped down to 19th position.
Sundowns has for the longest time been ranked higher than any South African club according to the system on footballdatabase.com and with the 2020/21 season in full swing, the Brazilians have since moved from ninth position to sixth, close to catching up with the likes of El Zamalek (fourth) and TP Mazembe (third).

Meanwhile, with the Bucs having found their form this season and after booking their spot in the MTN8 cup final, Pirates have found themselves ranked at 16th position, not too far away from the likes of Raja Casablanca (14th) and Wydad Casablanca (11th).
On the other hand, Chiefs, who are having a challenging start to their 2020/21 campaign, have fallen from 17th position to 19th.
