Mamelodi Sundowns’ consistent performances in the DStv Premiership has seen the Brazilians largely dominate the Soccer Laduma Team of the Week, ahead of the likes of Kaizer Chiefs.
While they may not have gotten maximum points in their last match against Cape Town City, Sundowns’ brilliant individual performers managed to stand head and shoulders above the rest.
As has been the case for a large majority of the season, the Chloorkop-based outfit largely dominate this week’s Team of the Week.
The likes of Denis Onyango €750k (±R13.3m) who has been bagging clean sheets, as well as Khuliso Mudau €250k (±R 4.4), who has surprisingly kept Thapelo Morena on the bench this season. The duo are joined by Downs playmaker Hashim Domingo €425k (±R 7.5m), who has come into his own for the club’s co-coaches Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mnqithi.
Meanwhile for Chiefs, their match winner in their last outing Bernard Parker €275k (±R 4.8m), forms part of this week’s Team of The Week, after his record breaking equalizer goal against Maritzburg United.
Reeve Frosler €475k (±R 8.4m), who has been deputizing for the injured Sifiso Hlanti is another Chiefs player who makes a return to the Team of the Week. The 23-year-old put in a solid shift in the left back position for coach Stuart Baxter.
The likes of Ashley Du Preez €225k (±R 4.m) and Thamsanqa Gabuza €250k (±R 4.4m), also crack the nod for their respective performances.
