According to Siya sources, Thulani ‘Tyson’ Hlatshwayo is believed to have turned down the initial offer by Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sundowns have tabled a R17 million bid to Bidvest Wits for the services of Tyson, Deon Hotto and Haashim Domingo, as the Students are on the verge of selling their top-flight status.
Although, there remains potential of a snag in the deal, as there is the possibility of the Brazilians not landing all three players due to the deal being subject to players agreeing personal terms.
As reported on Soccer Laduma today, Sundowns have since offered Tyson a three-year contract with a two-year option, which is believed to be a lucrative deal that would put him in the bracket of the club’s highest earners.
However, the Bafana Bafana international is also understood to be weighing up an offer from Pirates, who are long-time admirers of the player and according to Siya sources, Tyson has already turned down an initial offer from the Brazilians.
While talks between Tyson and Sundowns are expected to continue, this however means that the door is now open for a potential bidding war between the Brazilians and Pirates.
The Siya crew reported earlier today that the Bucs are also looking to hijack the Hotto deal from the Brazilians and it remains to be seen whether the Soweto side will at least land one of these players’ signatures.
