While we are expecting Mamelodi Sundowns to bring in at least two new faces in the current January transfer window, the Brazilians still have a few contract situations to attend to.
Arguably one of their most important bit of paperwork, is Pitso Mosimane who is in the final months of his contract at the Chloorkop-based club, However, as things stand, a new deal for the mentor is close to being concluded and an announcement is expected to be made in the coming weeks.
Within the squad, Oupa Manyisa, Hlompho Kekana, Anthony Laffor, Soumahoro Bangaly and Anele Ngcongca are all in the final six months of their contracts, expiring on June 30 this year, with indications that at least two of the aforementioned players are expected to sign new deals in the coming weeks or months.
As reported in November by the Siya crew, Sundowns are expected to meet this month regarding Ngcongca’s situation, with the club eager to tie him down beyond the current season.
Kekana is also close to putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Brazilians, with indications that the 34-year-old will spend the rest of his career at the Chloorkop-based club.
On the other hand, both Bangaly and Manyisa futures are uncertain at this point, with the duo struggling for game-time, although the latter is ruled out with injury.
On the other hand, Laffor has made a return to fitness after a long injury lay-off and it remains to be seen whether Sundowns will look to secure his services beyond the 2019/20 campaign.
