While Mamelodi Sundowns are yet to secure the future of Pitso Mosimane, a football agent has weighed in on who the club could possibly look at to replace the head coach, should the two parties be unable to agree on a deal.
The contract saga between Sundowns and Mosimane has been dragging on for quite some time now, with just three months left before his deal expires.
As already confirmed by Mosimane, it seems that the 54-year-old has already made his decision about his future at the club and has now left the ball in Sundowns’ court.
But should Mosimane not end up signing on the dotted line and shockingly head out the exit door at the Chloorkop, who would replace him in the head coach role?
Speaking to football agent, Sbusiso Nkosi, here’s what he had to say:
“It will take a lot for another coach to replace Pitso, he is involved with everything, the backroom staff, the doctors, the people who are doing fantastic stuff for Pitso behind the scenes, they all came in there because of him. It will hurt Sundowns if they were to lose him, remember, Pitso has made Sundowns a lot of money, they have sold Percy Tau, Keagan Dolly, Bongani Zungu, they have made quite a lot of money and all of those players are signed by him if I am not mistaken.”
“So it is quite sad and it will hurt them if they have to lose him, but also, players and coaches they come and go. I think the person, if it comes to that – God forbids, the person that can replace Pitso could be Rulani (Mokwena), there are people who wanted him. I know that Rulani’s contract is ending at Pirates, I don’t know what is the loan thing at Chippa, his contract will end at Pirates in June but obviously with Coronavirus it might be delayed. But I think he is the guy that they might look at and say let’s give this guy a chance.”
