New Mamemlodi Sundowns’ signing, Sammy Seabi explained that at one point, his representative kept his move to the Brazilians a secret from him.
The 24-year-old midfielder completed a move to Sundowns earlier in August, this after already undergoing a whole pre-season with Polokwane City.
After joining Sundowns, Pitso Mosimane explained Seabi’s inclusion to the squad was a ‘strategic signing’.
“With Sammy it is a strategic signing. More relevant for the (CAF) Champions League – you saw how we struggled with set-pieces against SuperSport United when they had big boys in the box,” Mosimane told said in August.
However, in an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, the midfielder admitted that he doesn’t know much about how his move to Masandawana came about.
“I wouldn’t really know much because I was in camp and Sundowns were in talks with Polokwane City management and my agent Jazzman Mahlakgane,” Seabi told Soccer Laduma.
“They kept it a secret from me and everyone. It happened while I was on a pre-season camp. After signing the Sundowns contract, I drove straight home and sat with my whole family – my parents and my brothers – and told them that I had just signed for Sundowns,” he added.
