Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rulani Mokwena feels that Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly side would probably not want to face the Brazilians in the quarterfinals of the CAF Champions League.
Sundowns face the possibility of meeting the Egyptian giants in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, with the South African club guaranteed a top place finish and a seeding in the last eight draw.
Al Ahly are set to finish second in their group and will not be seeded in the draw, so there is a chance that Mosimane could come up against his former employers.
Mosimane has expressed that there are few teams who would want to face them in the quarterfinals, but Mokwena said that it is in fact the Egyptians who would not want to face Sundowns.
"I think Coach Pitso is right. Who wants to play the defending champions except Mamelodi Sundowns? We welcome it, because that's the competition. Once you get to the last eight, you get to the last four, you get to play anybody and you've got to play all the best teams in that space and I think if coach Pitso is honest, I don't think he wants to play Sundowns. I don't think so."
Sundowns play their final group B game against CR Belouizdad on Friday. Sundowns are on 13 points in the group with match to play.
