While Mamelodi Sundowns will be adding another goalkeeper to their department for the new season, one who is already on their books is eager for a move away from the club.
As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, the representative of Sundowns’ shot-stopper, Reyaad Pieterse confirmed to the Siya crew that the 28-year-old is eager to find game-time elsewhere for the new season.
“Obviously he has lacked on the game-time and it is not that he has any hard feelings towards Sundowns, it is just a career decision that he wants to look for a move where he can go and get game-time, whether it is out on loan, or whether it is an outright transfer. He just wants to move to a club to find game-time,” Gary Cassisa from Mede8 Sports said.
Since joining the Brazilians in August 2018, the shot-stopper has made just six domestic appearances for the club, falling behind Denis Onyango and Kennedy Mweene on the pecking order.
Currently Sundowns have Pieterse, Onyango, Mweene, Abram Ngcobo and will be welcoming Jody February next season on their goalkeeper books.
It remains to be seen whether Sundowns will be open to letting Pieterse leave the club at the end of the season, either on loan or a permanent transfer.
