The Premier Soccer League confirmed the recipients of the DStv Premiership coaches and player of the month for December.
The Mamelodi Sundowns duo of Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mnqithi have walked away with their third consecutive Coach of the Month award for December after their sustained dominance in Mzansi’s topflight, which saw the Brazilians pick up four victories out of a possible seven games, playing out two draws and suffering defeat on just one occasion.
Meanwhile, Andile Jali beat the likes of Peter Shalulile and Victor Letsoalo, Kwame Peprah and Eva Nga, to be crowned the DStv Premiership Player of the Month.
“Jali was outstanding in December. He was a marvel to watch as he bossed the Sundowns’ midfield. His experience has been invaluable during a loaded period in December. The manner in which he broke down opponents’ attacks and in turn start build-ups to Sundowns attacks, which on some occasions led to goals, has been very impressive”, the the judging panel commented in a press release.
In addition, Kaizer Chiefs starlet Nkosingiphile ‘Mshini’ Ngcobo walked away with the DStv Premiership Goal of the Month award for his brilliant strike against Maritzburg United.
For their efforts, “Mngqithi, Mokwena and Jali and Ngcobo will each receive a trophy and R7 000 courtesy of league sponsors, DStv," the league said in a press release this afternoon.
