Pitso On Chiefs, VAR And Prayer

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he took both positives and negatives in their 2-0 Absa Premiership defeat against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, but has made a request to the football authorities.

“First they must get the spray, then goal line technology and then third thing should be the communication (between match officials). It was there against Chiefs, but against AmaZulu there was no communication,” Mosimane told reporters after the game.

Samir Nurkovic scored a goal in either half to ensure Amakhosi remained top of the table, but the Downs coach complained that the strikers’ opening goal should have been ruled off side by referee Victor Hlungwani.

“Then we go to VAR. The last one is to pray, especially when you play this team so that they must never benefit again. The odds are always against you to win. But the referee was good with the fouls. But when they played against Cape Town City they were let go, hence Benni (McCarthy) is still crying. Everyone received the yellow cards, and maybe Hlompho (Kekana) should have had a red card. We have to say the positives also. We know these match officials. My last eight games of the league I also need people to make mistakes – I am waiting. When I benefit I will tell you and admit,” said Mosimane.
