The Brazilians beat lower division outfit Vaal University of Technology 2-0 on Sunday afternoon to progress in the cup and now await their next opponents.
“Don’t eliminate the ABC Motsepe League teams, pass them to me guys. I’ve got a Champions League and a (domestic) league title that I am chasing, I don’t need stress,” he said, inviting laughs from journalists.
“It’s a cup, it’s a roll of the dice. Maybe get me Amavarara somewhere there again, while I am fighting this Champions League. Are Amavarara out? Is there anybody else? Hungry Lions? I hope they remain there.”
With Real Kings and TS Sporting the only other sides not in the top flight remaining in the cup competition, whoever Sundowns face in the quarterfinals could turn out to be a much tougher draw than facing ABC Motsepe League sides.
Downs face Al Ahly away on Saturday, also a quarter-final clash in the Champions League and again in the return leg a week later.
