Pitso Mosimane wants his side to push harder to get the second CAF Champions League star above their badge.
Mamelodi Sundowns are currently in Rustenburg, where they are underway with preparations for the return of the 2019/20 domestic season.
Sundowns are still challenging on all domestic fronts - the Absa Premiership and the Nedbank Cup, but will need to wait a while before they return to action in the CAF Champions League, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The Brazilians exited this season’s Champions League campaign in the quarterfinal stages in March this year, after being kicked out by Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Speaking on his official Twitter account, the Sundowns head coach revealed that they are missing the CAF Champions League, also adding how the Brazilians are on their way to matching stadium attendance compared to the likes of Zamalek and Wydad Athletic Club.
"This picture should inspire our players to push more to get the second STAR, also to inspire the ones we have just acquired plus those who are still coming. We miss the CAF Champions League games. We are slowly getting closer to (Al) Ahly, Zamalek, Raja (Casablanca) and WAC’s (Wydad Athletic Club) packed games," he said.
