Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed that he was not aware that striker Jeremy Brockie, who is on loan at Maritzburg United from the Brazilians – will not face his parent club at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.
The 31-year-old former SuperSport United forward joined the Team of Choice on transfer deadline day earlier this month following a frustrating spell at the Tshwane club, but will have to wait for Maritzburg’s home fixture against Chippa United next Friday to make his official debut for the Midlands outfit.
“I don’t know if Brockie is going to play. I have read about it, but I don’t know if he is going to play…probably Sundowns can answer that because I am not sure about it,” was Mosimane’s reply to journalists when asked about the clause in the loan agreement.
News that Brockie would sit out Saturday’s game broke last week.
“All I know is that players that have gone to the other side (on loan) have played against us. I have never been informed about that. If it is like that, then I don’t know. We have gone past that stage – (Rodney) Ramagalela played against us and scored against us. We have won the league, trophies and everybody (on loan) has played against us. You have your scoops and sources probably, but I am not sure. You must ask Sundowns because I don’t do legalities and all that. I am not part of that,” the coach explained.
