Mamelodi Sundowns fans itching to see new signing Rushine De Reuck in action have to wait a little bit longer before he can make his debut.

The Siya crew reported on Friday that the defender would be making the switch to Chloorkop from Maritzburg United and Downs confirmed his arrival on Saturday morning after he’d penned a five-year deal.
Although he was fit to feature in his old club’s DStv Premiership encounter against Orlando Pirates on January 23, he’s not quite readily available for the Brazilians just yet, according to co-coach Rulani Mokwena.
“Unfortunately he hasn’t started training with us,” Mokwena told the media.
“There was a lot more paper work that needed to be done and a lot more medical examinations. He comes from some sort of medical problems when we got him. He had an injury prior to him playing the previous match for Maritzburg – and other medical issues. We had to make sure that we are very thorough in our assessments in relation to that and get his medical history. We couldn’t take chances by just inducting him into the squad without being very thorough with our processes, particularly at this time of the pandemic.”

Downs face Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday in the opening round of the Nedbank Cup, a trophy they are hoping to defend this season.
But De Reuck won’t be in the squad.
“We are happy and excited he has joined us and we feel we have a very good prospect and a player that is humble and for us one of the best centrebacks in the country,” said Mokwena.
