The African rankings have once again been reshuffled, with Kaizer Chiefs moving closer to the top.
As reported last week, Orlando Pirates were the only South African team to be making progress on the African ranking on footballdatabase.com, with Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs unchanged at the time.
Pirates moved to 18th position on the ranking system, with Chiefs one spot away at 17th.
However, following this weekend’s Nedbank Cup action, Amakhosi have since moved one spot away, finding themselves in 16th position, with the Bucs unchanged.
Bidvest Wits are also then following not too far behind the Bucs as they are placed at 20th position.
Sundowns are also unchanged at eighth position, although maintain their title as the highest ranked South African club on the continent.
However, the Brazilians will be able to move even further up come the end of February, when they lock horns with Al Ahly in the quarterfinals of the CAF Champions League competition.
The Egyptian giants are currently the number one team in Africa according to footballdatabase.com, although, Etoile du Sahel are following not too far behind.
