Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Manqoba Mngqithi has spoken highly of the brotherhood within in the team, making reference to three particular players.
Themba Zwane, Peter Shalulile (3) and Kermit Erasmus (2) are three of the team’s top goalscorers this season in the DStv Premiership, with Zwane leading the log with five goals so far.
But Mngqithi says that as much as the trio may all be in competition to score as many goals as possible, the most important thing is how well they play and work together to get the results after 90 minutes.
“More than anything else, I appreciate the brotherhood that I see amongst our players, Peter passing to Mshishi last week and two situations with Kermit doing the same and Mshishi has also done the same for Kermit. That brotherhood for me is more important because as much as they are all in competition trying to score as many goals for themselves, their relationship and brotherhood and selflessness make it possible for us to keep climbing that ladder or success,” Mngqithi told the media on Saturday evening.
“We have got a lot of very good players, so if we can be a little bit prepared to work for one another at times because we are not all going to score, but as long as we consistently try to play for the team.”
