Mamelodi Sundowns have provided the club's latest update on new midfielder Sammy Seabi’s injury.
The central midfielder, who was handed his first start for Sundowns by coach Pitso Mosimane during midweek’s Absa Premiership match against Chippa United, was forced out in the second half due to injury.
Earlier, the Siya crew reported that indications from the Brazilians’ camp have been that there are no major worries regarding the condition of the 24-year-old.
With Downs getting ready for their match in cup competition today, it has been confirmed from the club that the former Polokwane City player is set for a late fitness test.
“Mosimane is hoping the injury to debutant Sammy Seabi, who was impressive against Chippa, is not too serious and the medical team will assess him,” confirmed Sundowns on the club’s official website.
Sundowns will take on Bloemfontein Celtic in their MTN8 quarter-final match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium this evening.
