A Mamelodi Sundowns star could face more trouble, following the alleged gender-based violence allegations against him.
As reported by the Siya crew, Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfielder Mothobi Mvala has had a court case opened against him in December by his partner Palesa Botipe and is set to appear in court on January 12.
It has been alleged that the football star has been abusive towards his partner which has resulted in her taking the legal route to seek intervention from the authorities.
The latest information reaching the Siya crew is that the 27-year-old Free State-born player is having the allegations against him being investigated by the Brazilians who are taking issues relating to gender-based violence very seriously, and according to sources the star could be set to face the music if found guilty.
“The matter is being investigated by the club. The player has been in the Free State these past few days and was seen attending one of the local football tournaments as a guest but on Saturday he was called by the club enquiring about the allegations against him. GBV is serious and it is pleasing to see that the club doesn’t take it lightly,” said the source.
In 2019, Siyabonga Zulu had his contract with Downs terminated after the mother of his child went to the club to demand that the footballer pay 'papgeld' for their son.
