The 25-year-old, who was signed under the club’s former coach Pitso Mosimane, doesn’t seem to be in the plans under the current technical team after Manqoba Mngqithi, who is one of the joint coaches at the Brazilians, told the media last week that the ex-Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila star still had a lot of work to do to be able to compete in the team.

According to sources, AmaZulu have revived their interest in Kapinga after the KwaZulu-Natal club initially wanted him last season, while Stellenbosch is believed to be also keen as the Mother City outfit has been reinforcing Steve Barker’s squad with some quality players in this transfer window.
Kapinga has not made the matchday squads in any of the four matches for Downs so far this season in the MTN8 and the league respectively and is expected to be loaned out in the coming weeks to get regular game-time, according to sources.
