Mamelodi Sundowns are in the final stages of preparing a new contract for Themba Zwane, with the club’s announcement expected in the coming days.
As revealed by the Siya crew, the Brazilians have been in discussions about the influential player’s new deal, with his existing one having finished at the end of June.
Sources close to the Chloorkop outfit confirmed that a new two-year deal has been in discussion between the former African champions and the player’s representatives to retain the 32-year-old beyond the 11 and a half years that he has already been on the club’s books.
Latest news from the club is that the deal is in the final stages, with almost everything agreed to and with an announcement expected soon.
“Sundowns is finalizing Themba Zwane’s contract and there is no stumbling block or anything like that. It’s almost a done deal and it’s just that things to do with contracts are sensitive and all the aspects of it have to be ironed out before concluding and announcing. But the boy is staying,” confirmed the source.
