The virus continues to spread its way around South Africa and the world as it wreaks havoc across the globe, with all sporting codes being affected by the situation as leagues are suspended everywhere.

It was announced on Thursday that there would be no more football in Mzansi for the foreseeable future as they wait to see what happens next and await advice from medical professionals, and while the Premier Soccer League does hope to have the Absa Premiership and National First Division wrapped up by the end of June, the MultiChoice Diski Challenge has been discontinued.

Given all the information above, the Siya crew has been informed that Sundowns have followed international guidelines and moved to shut down their youth academy temporarily, with the Brazilians putting the health and safety of their youngsters high up on their list of priorities.

Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs have also done the same for their academy teams as they sent players back home, but it remains to be seen what further steps will be taken now that there is no definite return date for football in South Africa.
