The Siya crew has been informed that Mamelodi Sundowns have agreed to a deal in principle to bring a Kenyan centre-back on board at the Chloorkop-based club.
As reported on Soccer Laduma on October 17, former Maritzburg United centre-back, Brian Onyango, who was unveiled as one of the 22 new players at Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, was shortly after seen at the Sundowns’ headquarters.
The player did not make the squad for TTM’s opening encounter against SuperSport United in the MTN8 competition on October 17, which was later explained to be held back in his country due to either work permit issues or quarantine protocols in line with the COVID-19 regulations.
However, Siya sources revealed at the time that his move to TTM could be off and the 26-year-old was believed to be heading to the Brazilians.
A similar u-turn took place when Augustine Mulenga was unveiled by TTM earlier this month, but ended up joining AmaZulu FC.
A source has now disclosed to the Siya crew that Onyango and Sundowns have since agreed to a deal in principle, with indications that an announcement about his signature is imminent.
