The Siya crew understands that Mamelodi Sundowns have made major progress in their pursuit of SuperSport United talisman, Sipho Mbule.
Mbule has been a long-term target of the Brazilians, who have tried on numerous occasions to lure him from their cross-town rivals SuperSport to no avail.

As a vital cog in their team, Matsatsantsa were naturally adamant in holding onto the 23-year-old, remaining resolute on their stance to only sell him to a European suitor.
But with this saga rapidly unravelling, the latest news reaching the desk of the Siya crew is that Sundowns and SuperSport are close to reaching an agreement with regards to a transfer fee for the playmaker.
The finer details of the deal is still to be ironed out but the crew understands that Sundowns have tabled an offer that meets SuperSport’s evaluation of the player.
Given that Mbule signed a three and a half year contract extension with SuperSport in 2020, there is no way that Matsatsantsa would part ways with their prized possession cheaply, with the club CEO Stan Matthews previously stating that interested suitors would have to “come with big cheque books,” if they are to land the prodigious talent.
Given that the two clubs are close to an agreement, a possible deal will depend on whether the ‘Master Chef’ agrees on personal terms with Sundowns and whether he is open to making a move to Chloorkop.
