It’s understood that Mosimane had already handpicked assistant coach Rulani Mokwena, fitness trainer Kabelo Rangoaga and performance analyst Musi Matlaba to join him on his new project in North Africa – but they, too, would have to discuss their exits with president Patrice Motsepe, who gave Mosimane his blessings on Wednesday.
According to reliable Siya sources, Mokwena will remain at Chloorkop having recently rejoined Sundowns on a four-year contract after spending three years at Orlando Pirates as an assistant and later interim coach before a brief spell at Chippa United as head coach.
Indications are that Rangoaga could also be staying put, while it’s not yet clear what decision Matlaba has made regarding his future.
Motsepe said in a statement that the club would make further announcements regarding Mosimane’s replacements, and Downs are in a race against time with the season set to get underway on October 17 with the MTN8.

Another one of Mosimane’s assistant coaches, Manqoba Mnqgithi, has also recently signed a four-year deal, and it’s not expected that he will leave.
Mosimane’s confirmation as Al Ahly coach is expected tomorrow at the earliest when the club officially announces its decision on his predecessor Rene Weiler.
