A former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder has given his thoughts on how the club could line up following the addition of Surprise Ralani.
Sundowns confirmed the signing of Ralani from Cape Town City on an 18-month contract, adding to an already lethal attack with the likes of Themba Zwane, Neo Maema, Peter Shalulile and Thabiso Kutumela.
Ralani's addition also gives Sundowns coaches various options in attack and the 34-year-old will have ample time to get to know his new surroundings before club football returns in February.
Sundowns will be competing in the DSTV Premiership, CAF Champions League and Nedbank Cup, so having a new player to call on during their tight schedule will be important.
"He can fit anywhere in the front three and also in a number 10 role. He is versatile, so he can play on either flank and down the middle. You can have a front three of Maema, Shalulile and Ralani, with AJ (Andile Jali) and Rivaldo (Coetzee) playing as number eight and six. There are lots of options," former Sundowns midfielder Brent Carelse tells the Siya crew.
"With Themba and Sirino, as well as Ralani, Sundowns have three players who can play anywhere in the attacking positions. They are spoilt for choice and you need that when you are competing for everything."
