Sundowns Announce Kekana Decision

Mamelodi Sundowns have announced that they have amicably parted ways with long-serving midfielder Hlompho Kekana.

Kekana served Sundowns for 10 years after joining them from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2011 and now leaves as a legend of the club, having won six league titles with the Tshwane giants.

The midfielder, who has scored some beautiful goals during his time at the club, led the Chloorkop outfit to CAF Champions League success in 2016, and also won two Telkom Knockout titles as well as the Nedbank Cup on two occasions.

The club announced that Kekana met with the technical team and players to bid farewell.

He has not been training with the first team over the past few months after it was made clear to him that he would no longer be in the plans of the technical team, even though he was registered for the DStv Premiership.

The Siya crew reported that Kekana is still keen on playing and believes he has at least two more seasons left in him.
