Lyle Lakay and Neo Maema were drafted back into the starting line-up for Sundowns, with Thabiso Kutumela and Thapelo Morena dropping out.

The in-form Thamsanqa Gabuza gave Sundowns an early scare he rattled the frame of the goal inside the opening minute, before Themba Zwane saw his header blocked at the other end a few minutes later.

Sundowns took contorl thereafter as the likes of Pavol Safaranko and Peter Shalulile started giving the SuperSport defence something to think about in the final third.

Shalulile went agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock on 28 minute , with the Namibian striker unleashing a powerful strike that crashed against Ronwen Williams' crossbar.

The home side had a couple more looks at goal in the latter parts of the first half and they got their reward on the stroke of halftime when Neo Maema found the back of the net with an impressive strike.

SuperSport did managed to pull a goal back in the 68th minute when Onyango spilled a long-range shot into the path of Ghampani Lungu, who fired into the far coner to become the first player to score against Sundowns in the league this season.

The visitors managed to pull level with 10 minutes left on the clock as Teboho Mokoena found the back of the net with an impressive free-kick.
