Mamelodi Sundowns have closed in on yet another signing, agreeing a deal in principle with the defender and edging Kaizer Chiefs in the race.
The Siya crew has it on good authority that Katlego Mohamme is expected to join the Brazilians next season from University of Pretoria having impressed playing for the GladAfrica Championship side over the last two years.
What has also helped the left-footed centreback in his growth is the consistency at which he has featured for the junior national team.
Mohamme, 23, is part of coach David Notoane’s preliminary squad for the Tokyo Olympics next month and is shoo-in to being a starter.
The team will be trimmed from 40 to 22 players in the coming weeks and it’s expected that he will make the final cut.
Sundowns are understood to have agreed a deal with AmaTuks for Mohamme and the Siya crew has been led to believe that the player is currently discussing personal terms.
Indications are that Chiefs were eying the defender, too, with their FIFA ban being lifted from early next month and incoming coach Stuart Baxter expected to assess possible departures to make room for new arrivals.
But word reaching the Siya crew is that Mohamme is now finalising his move to Chloorkop! The players in the gallery above could join him at Downs.
