Wayne Arendse and Phakamani Mahlambi have been deemed surplus to requirements at Chloorkop and are understood to be working on moves before the Premier Soccer League transfer window slams shut on Monday midnight.
Arendse’s next destination has not yet been disclosed having been heavily linked with a switch to Swallows a few weeks ago, while Mahlambi is said to be close to joining AmaZulu – and both deals would be on loan, insiders have suggested.
Sundowns joint coaches Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena have been outspoken about the need to trim the squad to a size that is manageable following the recruitment of 14 players for the current season.
Tiyani Mabunda and Anthony Laffor are the other two players that appear to not be part of their plans for the immediate future, though there has been no talk of them joining other clubs before Monday’s deadline.

Another complex transfer is that of Gaston Sirino, who told the Siya crew on Friday that his intention was to leave Downs and join Al Ahly, but so far the club has blocked that move as they have rejected an offer from the Egyptian outfit.
Oupa Manyisa, Lucky Mohomi, Sammy Seabi, Aubrey Ngoma and Ali Meza are the most notable players to leave Sundowns at the end of last season – some on permanent deals, while others are on loan.
