One of Mamelodi Sundowns’ star recruits from the last transfer window has been given hope that he could finally make his debut in the not-too-distant future.
Sundowns signed Gift Motupa from Bidvest Wits before the start of the 2020/21 PSL season, but the player is yet to make an appearance since penning pen to paper with the defending league champions. His debut was delayed by the fact that he was carrying an injury at the time, but he was then involved in a car accident in November, escaping with just minor injuries.

The former Orlando Pirates and Baroka FC attacker joined his Sundowns teammates in training at Chloorkop last week, forming part of the team during warm-ups and stretching. After the warm-ups, he has been working on his conditioning under the supervision and is now ready to join the rest of his teammates in full training.
Motupa will have tough competition to get into the team, with the likes of Themba Zwane, Peter Shalulile and Kermit Erasmus performing well in attack, while the likes of Gaston Sirino. Promise Mkhuma, Keletso Makgalwa, Lesedi Kapinga and Sibusiso Vilakazi are also options for the technical team.
